# Banners, Signs & Displays

Full size, 150 dpi, and clearances for hems, eyelets and stands.

Printdash artwork guideline. Illustrated version: https://printdash.io/artwork-guidelines#wide-format

- Set up at **100% of the finished size** where your software allows (Illustrator's limit is 5779mm on a side). Otherwise use a clean scale like 50% or 10% and say so in the order notes.
- **150 dpi at full size** is enough for anything viewed from a metre or more away. Vector logos and type stay sharp at any size.
- Bleed is 5mm. Signs are trimmed like paper - run backgrounds past the edge.
- Large flat colour areas print more evenly than very subtle gradients. Avoid a gradient that spans the full width in a single colour.

### Product clearances

| Product | Keep clear | Why |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Vinyl banners (hemmed / eyelets) | 50mm from every edge | The hem folds the edge back and eyelets punch through it. |
| Pull-up banners | 100mm at the bottom, 20mm at the top | The bottom rolls into the base cassette; the top is gripped by the rail. |
| Corflute, foamboard & rigid signs with drill holes | 30mm from each corner | Holes are drilled in from the corner. |
| A-frames | One artwork per face | Both faces print the same design unless you supply a second page. |
